The Boston Dynamics Robots Have Learned How To Dance And It's Terrifying
The Boston Dynamics humanoid robots were made to measure up to human capabilities. For this reason, every year, new upgrades are added to the robots thus improving their skills, giving better chances at achieving the ultimate goal.
You will not believe the latest upgrade. Dancing skills. Yes, that’s right. These robots were given the ability to dance. And they dance better than many humans I know.
As exciting as this seems, nothing gives more chills than imagining a host of other things these robots have gotten really good at over the years. Some of these include:
The box jumps and backflips which they began doing in 2017. This indirectly means climbing of trees would be a piece of cake for them, so we might as well cancel hiding from them on top trees.
They began to open doors with their elongated necks in 2018. No locking of doors to hide from them would work either.
Later in this same 2018, they learnt how to run up stairs.
In 2019, they upgraded to gymnastics. This means there was no kind of stunt they were not capable of doing. This would bring the question of the usefulness of humans at this point because these robots were seriously taking over everything.
Now in 2020, these robots have acquired dancing skills and they are more than ready to dance on our graves at the right time.
The thought of these robots jumping, opening doors, climbing trees, running up the stairs, performing gymnastics!!! and even dancing, scares me, and it should scare you too, albeit an exciting endeavor.
Expert professor Stuart Russell argued that unless certain changes are made with regard to the development of AI, it could result in the extinction of the human race.
